Get a chance to see remnants of the famous Halley’s Comet as we scan the night sky for meteors. Learn about the impact of this Comet’s discovery and history as we prepare for its return in the year 2061. Bring a chair, a blanket, and a friend to Boat Launch 2. This program will meet regardless of sky conditions and only be canceled in the event of rain.

Parks & Outdoors

Black Moshannon State Park offers a bog boardwalk, a tea-colored lake, trails, and a setting for an unhurried park visit west of Julian. Choose your activity and arrival area using DCNR’s official park map. For the Bog Trail boardwalk, use Boating Area 3. Download the map in advance because cell coverage can be unpredictable.
