Soaring Eagle Wetland

Start where the published fishing guide starts: Soaring Eagle Wetland, Wildlife for Everyone’s preserve on South Eagle Valley Road, with designated parking, an accessible trail and a fishing and viewing platform beside Bald Eagle Creek.

It is also the way to the All-Tackle Keystone Select stretch around the mouth of Steele Hollow Run: about 0.8 mile, the only Keystone Select water in Pennsylvania where bait is legal. Park here and walk the bank or the ADA path.

The Milesburg confluence

Fishing & Creek Access
Bald Eagle Creek — Milesburg Confluence (Class A begins)

At Milesburg, Spring Creek joins Bald Eagle Creek. From here downstream through the Sayers Lake backwater is the Class A Wild Trout section: stocked rainbows plus wild browns. Roughly two-thirds of the flow below here is Spring Creek, which is why this water holds up better in summer than the freestone creek you fished this morning.

Fisherman's Paradise (Spring Creek)

Finish on Spring Creek, in the canyon below Bellefonte: the Fish and Boat Commission’s legendary catch-and-release, fly-fishing-only stretch. Wild browns, heritage-angling rules.

That is the fish hub’s “three ways” in one day: the Keystone Select stretch on the freestone creek, the creek turned Class A at Milesburg, and the fly-only canyon.
